Thursday: GDP, Unemployment Claims, Pending Home Sales

Goldman Sachs lowered their estimate for Q3 GDP today:

“We lowered our Q3 GDP tracking estimate by 1/2 pp to 2 3/4 % (qoq ar) ahead of tomorrow’s advance release.”

o At 8:30 AM ET, The initial weekly unemployment claims report will be released. The consensus is for 295 thousand initial claims, up from 290 thousand last week.

o Also at 8:30 AM, Gross Domestic Product, 3rd quarter 2021 (advance estimate). The consensus is that real GDP increased 2.8% annualized in Q3, down from 6.7% in Q2.

o At 10:00 AM, Pending Home Sales Index for September. The consensus is 0.5% increase in the index.

o At 11:00 AM, Kansas City Fed Survey of Manufacturing Activity for October. This is the last of the regional surveys for October.
